How 2: Making a Panini Sandwich

PANINI SANDWICH: HOW TO MAKE THEM

This is how to make a really good sandwich called a panini. A panini is basically a grilled sandwich with cheese and meat (you could add vegetables too!). I love the combination of flavors that the meat and cheese make with the soft bread. This is the way I make a panini at home. Make sure you ask your parents if it's okay to use the oven or stove.

YOU WILL NEED:
Sliced swiss cheese (or any cheese)
Sliced roast beef (or any deli meat)
2 slices of bread (white or whole grain)
butter or Pam cooking spray (optional)

EQUIPMENT (your choice, I will describe each method below)
A plate (necessary)
Skillet
Microwave
Waffle iron

Here are the ingredients I used

1. Take a slice of bread and place it on the plate

2. Put the cheese on the bread.
4. Now add the beef.
5. Add the last slice of bread. Butter the outside of both slices, if you prefer.

                                                                             Cook it

...in the waffle iron
Turn on the waffle iron. Place the sandwich in the waffle iron and close the lid. Lift the lid every once in a while to check that the sandwich is at your preferred brownness. Estimated time 10-15 min.

...in the skillet
Heat the pan at medium temperature. Spray Pam into the pan. Check on it every minute or so by lifting the sandwich with a spatula, until preferred brownness. Estimated time 10-15 min.
...in the microwave
Make sure that your plate is microwave safe :D.
Put the the sandwich (on the plate) in to the microwave for 30 seconds. It doesn't get a crispy crust with this method, but it is fast and still warm and goey! Estimated time 30 seconds.

Please tell me what you think of this recipe. Would you change anything in the ingredients?
